Keep Calm and Watch Little Kittens

I really love cats, I think I mentioned that some time ago. And recently I discovered great channel on Livestream, where you can watch little kittens 24/7. I watched beautiful cat Eve give birth to five babies and I have seen them grow up. The babies are now almost two months old and they are super cute! I mean really, there is nothing more relaxing than watching super cute fluffy kittens sleep and play and learning to eat and enjoying pets and it’s just aaawww!

The channel is live video from TinyKittens, a cat foster home in Canada and it provides unique experience for all cat lovers all around the world. You can see kittens from birth to adoption, without having the stress of taking care of them and finding them good home. And it also helps raise awareness about spaying/neutering cats, because the cat mommas there are rejected pets, strays or ferals. You can read about them on their facebook page or their web. They also have Twitter and sell photos of the kittens on Etsy.

And if you want to see the adorable kittens and enjoy their cuteness, here is the channel.

Have a happy Saturday, keep calm and watch some cuteness online!

Killing a Cat is Fun! Apparently…

WARNING: This article discusses animal cruelty, I won’t be sharing any graphic pictures, but some of the links have them, so take that in consideration. Some links also has a really hateful speech from outraged people.

I’m crazy cat lady and I’m not ashamed to say that. And I also despise animal cruelty, so what I read yesterday put me in total rage. I write about this to let go of some steam, but also, and more importantly, to spread the word. At the end of this post are some links with more information about everything.

On Wednesday April 15th, Texas veterinarian Kristen Lindsey shot a cat with an arrow on her backyard and bragged about it on Facebook. She thought it was nothing, like normal, because that’s what people do, right?! Especially vets… Several sources also say that it was her mother who took the picture of the dead cat and Ms. Lindsey, which is seriously unbelievable!

She probably forgot the oath she had to say when graduating:
Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health and welfare, the prevention and relief of animal suffering, the conservation of animal resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge.
I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.
I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.

Ms. Lindsey even thought she won’t be fired, because she is “awesome”… Bad news for her, she was fired immediatelly, because people were bombarding the clinic where she worked, their website crashed from the sudden traffic.

And some of her friends were apparently cheering on her! I mean, if I saw something like this on my Facebook feed, I would respond with something very… colorful let’s say… And reportedly Misty Story (the last commenter on the screenshot bellow) is also working at the clinic as a receptionist, if that’s true, I hope she’ll get fired too. Also Ms. K. E. Camp is allegedly a vet working with horses at a place, where Ms. Lindsey did her internship.

And to add to the top of all this, not only did this “person” killed a cat, it was also not feral cat, but someone’s pet, his name was Tiger… But even if the cat was a feral, it doesn’t give that “person” the right to just shoot her and brag about it on top of everything! How could such a person even choose to be a vet is absolutely beyond my understanding… I also came across several professional opinions, who said that the cat wasn’t dead yet, because her legs aren’t limp… If this is true, it makes me sick, I just cannot understand how can someone do this. There are also screenshots of Ms. Lindsey’s blog, where she lists killig of animals as one of her hobbies. This is really so messed up.

There are petitions on internet to revoke her license, so she cannot work with animals ever again. This one has probably so far gained the most support, so please sign here, if you agree that this “person” should never ever again be in charge of helping animals. You can also find another petitions and signed them.

You can also join several Facebook pages. This one is to state that her license needs to be revoked, this one supports justice for Tiger and this one supports police investigation of the matter. There also others, but these are the ones that I personally support. You can find more by searching “Tiger the cat” or “Kristen Lindsey” on Facebook or Google.

So far, police is investigating, you can follow the information on their page. Also, this news page seems to be updating their information regularly. I hope there will be a proper investigation, not just pretending to do something and then sweeping it under the rug as it often happens with case of animal cruelty…
